Bangladesh Bank has raised the limit for medical expenses abroad from $10,000 to $15,000, according to a circular issued by its Foreign Exchange and Policy Division on Monday (May 12).
Under the new directive, funds can be sent directly to foreign hospitals or used via international prepaid, debit, or credit cards for medical payments.
However, individuals can carry a maximum of $5,000 in cash within the $15,000 limit.
The Bangladesh Bank stated that all other regulations regarding foreign medical expenses will remain unchanged. Let me know if you need any refinements!
