DHAKA: Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on Saturday asked all the medical centres of the country to provide free medical treatment for two hours on August 15, the National Mourning Day.

He also requested the authorities concerned to provide free treatment for two hours on Mach 17, the birthday of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker came up with the plea while addressing a meeting arranged by Bangladesh Private Practitioners Association at Bangladesh Medical Association auditorium in the city.

He added: “Bangladesh is the only country where the death anniversary of the father of the nation is disrespected.”

He also said Khaleda Zia is doing by cutting birthday cakes on that day is ignominious.
