DHAKA: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Tuesday said the thermal scanners would be set at all ports of the country to detect Ebola virus within 15 days.

The health minister made the disclosure while talking to journalists at a program at the ministry.

He said, “We have already formed an anti-Ebola committee before the High Court order to prevent Ebola.”

The passengers of the airport and land ports are being scanned to restrict entry of anyone with the disease in the country, he added.

Nasim further told the journalists that the free medical service is ensured by community clinics to the rural areas.

Earlier, BNP-Jamaat government stooped giving medical service through community clinics, otherwise it would have been developed, he added.

He also asked the employees of community clinics to work with sincerity and transparent.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker also mentioned about the recent large number of recruitment of BCS cadres in health sector.

“The newly appointed doctors are serving the country people,” the newsmen were told.

Health Secretary MM Niazuddin and Director of Community Project Dr Makhduma Nargis also spoke.
