Israeli air strikes on Gaza have killed nearly 100 Palestinians during the past 24 hours, with 75 of those deaths occurring in air raids on two homes in Beit Lahiya, in northern Gaza.

These attacks come as the humanitarian crisis in the region deepens, with hunger levels reaching catastrophic proportions, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.

The death toll from Israel's ongoing assault on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to at least 44,363 Palestinians, with over 105,000 others wounded.

Meanwhile, the humanitarian response in Gaza remains severely hampered by Israeli blockades, shortages of medical supplies, and the displacement of thousands.

Among the dead was Ahmed al-Kahlout, head of the ICU at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, who was killed by an Israeli drone strike. Medical facilities in northern Gaza are struggling to function due to ongoing violence and limited resources.

Despite these dire conditions, Gaza’s suffering is compounded by issues in securing aid.

Many Muslim-led organisations providing humanitarian relief to Palestinians have faced significant obstacles, including the closure of bank accounts and suspension of services by financial platforms, due to increased scrutiny over their work.

Amany Killawi, co-founder of the crowdfunding platform LaunchGood, noted that such challenges are often a result of media pressure linked to the Israel-Palestine conflict, rather than any legal violations.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah’s leader, Naim Qassem, declared a “divine victory” for the group in its ongoing war with Israel, calling the recent truce a major achievement.

Despite claims of a ceasefire, tensions remain high along the Lebanon-Israel border, with Israeli forces conducting airstrikes in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah positions. The Lebanese Health Ministry reports that at least 3,961 people have been killed and 16,520 injured since the fighting began in October 2023.

Hezbollah has emphasized its ongoing support for Palestinians in Gaza, as Israeli forces continue their aerial bombardment and ground operations. Meanwhile, Israeli military sources claim they have struck over 12,500 Hezbollah targets and inflicted heavy losses on the group.

The ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel, brokered by the US and France, remains fragile as both sides accuse each other of violations.
