Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud has confirmed that Bangladesh’s national parliamentary elections will likely take place either at the end of this year or the beginning of 2026.
Masud made the announcement during a meeting with district and upazila election officials today.
Masud emphasized that the current Election Commission is fully dedicated to organizing a free, fair, and credible election.
He also provided an update on efforts to update the voters' list, noting that 35,000 data collectors are currently working on the task.
The Commissioner called on election officials to carry out their responsibilities with utmost diligence and urged for everyone's cooperation to ensure an accurate voter list.
The meeting was chaired by Senior Election Officer Khan Shahanur Khan.
