Temperature may drop further over next 5 days: Met office

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (Feb 1) forecasts a further drop in temperature over the next five days.

Moderate to dense fog may develop in several areas across the country during the midnight to morning hours, lingering in some places until noon.

The BMD also warned that dense fog could temporarily disrupt air navigation, inland river transport, and road communications. Despite this, night and day temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the country.

The weather will generally remain dry with a partly cloudy sky in some areas.

According to the Met office, the ridge of a sub-continental high extends to Bihar and the surrounding regions, while a seasonal low persists over the South Bay.

Yesterday, the highest recorded temperature was 30.4°C in Teknaf, Chattogram division, while today’s lowest temperature was 9.9°C in Tetulia, Rangpur Division.

The sunset in the capital today will occur at 5:45 pm, and it will rise tomorrow at 6:39 am.
