Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar is expected to visit Bangladesh by end of April.
An official on condition of anonymity from Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Tuesday (March 11).
However, there was a speculation that Ishaq Dar will be visiting Bangladesh on April 11 but Pakistan High Commission dismissed the matter.
The official said the information is not correct Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will visit Bangladesh by the end of April.
When asked regarding the careers that received permission to operate Dhaka-Islamabad flight from Bangladesh government, the official said, “Yes, it’s true that three flights including Fly Jinnah got permission from both side authorities, but it’s not yet confirmed when the flights will resume their operations.”
“We hope soon the flights will begin their operations in Dhaka-Islamabad root,” hoped the official.
On March 9, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain met Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Jeddah.
In the meeting both side discussed the historical, religious, and cultural ties between the two countries. They particularly emphasized boosting trade, people-to-people connectivity, and cultural exchanges.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.
On March 5, Pakistan’s Additional Foreign Secretary (Asia & Pacific), Ambassador Imran Ahmed Siddiqui held a series of meetings with senior Bangladeshi officials to review and strengthen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including foreign relations, trade, culture, visa and people-to-people exchanges.
During his meeting with Md. Jashim Uddin, Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh, and Ambassador Imran Ahmed Siddiqui reviewed the current state of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations, which are based on mutual respect and shared values.
In the meeting with Bangladesh commerce secretary Mahbubur Rahman, both sides discussed various aspects of bilateral economic and trade relations, acknowledging the growing momentum and exploring prospects for further expansion.
Ambassador Siddiqui also met Md. Ataur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, to explore avenues for cultural cooperation , including music, cinema, drama, youth exchanges, and people-to-people contacts. Both sides agreed to work closely to strengthen cultural ties between the two nations.
In a meeting with Nasimul Ghani, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, both sides expressed satisfaction over the ease of travel between Pakistan and Bangladesh and discussed various avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation.
