Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus left for China today (March 26) on a four-day official visit.
A special flight carrying Professor Yunus and his delegation took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 1 pm, according to the Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary, Abul Kalam Azad.
During his visit, Prof Yunus will participate in the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) on March 27, where he is set to speak on Asia's evolving role in the global landscape.
In addition to his forum address, he is expected to meet with CEOs of major global and Chinese corporations.
On March 28, Professor Yunus will engage in his first bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing to discuss matters of mutual interest between the two nations.
The following day, March 29, Prof Yunus will deliver a lecture at Peking University (PKU), where he will also be awarded an honorary doctorate.
He is also scheduled to meet with representatives from Chinese hospital chains to explore opportunities for establishing joint-venture hospitals in Bangladesh.
Prof Yunus is expected return home later the same day, March 29.
