An earthquake was felt in various parts of the country, including Dhaka and Chattogram, on Friday (March 28) at 12:25 PM.
The tremor lasted for a few minutes, but there have been no reports of casualties or damage so far.
Md. Rubaiyat Kabir, the acting officer-in-charge of the Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center at the Meteorological Department, confirmed the news.
He stated that the earthquake had a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale, and its epicenter was located in Mandalay, Myanmar, approximately 597 kilometers from Dhaka.
According to the United States Geological Survey, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar at 12:02 PM today.
The intensity of the earthquake was so strong that it was also felt in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
