Chief Adviser of Bangladesh Professor Muhammad Yunus was honored with an honorary doctorate by Peking University (PKU) this morning (local time).

The prestigious degree was presented during a ceremony at the university's conference hall in Beijing.

Prof. Yunus also took the opportunity to deliver a lecture at the event.

Following the completion of his four-day visit to China, he is scheduled to return home later today.

He Guangcai, Chair of the Peking University Council, was among those in attendance.
