Three brothers were killed after a bus hit their motorcycle in Patharghata, Barguna, this morning (March 29).

The incident occurred around 7:30 am in the Sonar Bangla area of Raihanpur union, while the siblings were riding their bikes. 

The victims were identified as Md. Naimuzzaman Shuvo, 22, Md. Shanto, 14, and Md. Nadim, 8. They were the sons of Md. Nasir Khan, from Tikikata union in Mathbaria upazila of Pirojpur district.

Patharghata Police Station’s OC of Investigation, Md. Yakub Hossain, confirmed the matter. 

According to him, the brothers were en route to their uncle’s home in Keramatpur, Patharghata, after inviting him for Eid celebrations at their family home in Mathbaria. As they made their way along the Patharghata-Mathbaria road, a Rajib Paribahan bus, travelling from Patharghata to Dhaka, struck their motorcycle in the Sonar Bangla area, leaving them dead on the spot.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.

The devastating news has left the local community in mourning, Banglanews Correspondent reports.
