No Bangladeshi casualties were reported in the earthquake that struck Thailand, according to the Bangladesh Embassy in Bangkok.

The embassy, which has been closely monitoring the situation since the earthquake on Friday, March 28, reported no significant incidents involving Bangladeshi expatriates in the affected areas.

The embassy urged all Bangladeshi nationals to heed the guidance and warnings issued by local authorities and housing agencies.

For any emergencies, expatriates have been advised to contact the embassy’s helpdesk hotline, available on their official website.

A powerful earthquake hit Thailand and Myanmar on Friday, causing widespread destruction.

In Bangkok, a multi-storey building under construction collapsed due to the earthquake's force. The incident has resulted in numerous fatalities.

While the 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar and the subsequent 6.8-magnitude tremor caused significant loss of life, the Bangladeshis living in Myanmar have also been reported safe.
