More than 2.1 million dead voters have been identified during the ongoing door-to-door voter list update, according to the National Identity Registration Wing of the Election Commission (EC).

The data was revealed on Thursday (April 10).

As part of the update campaign, information of 6,126,089 new voters has been collected so far, and 5,811,058 of them have completed registration. However, 4,269,942 voters were found ineligible during the process.

Among the registered new voters, 2,619,323 are male, 3,183,210 are female, and 8,525 are hijra voters.

The campaign is part of the EC’s regular effort to update and clean the national voter list.
