Three people were arrested in connection with the murder of Parvez, a student of Primeasia University in Dhaka’s Banani area.

The arrestees are Alvi Hossain Junayed, Al Amin Sami, and Al Kamal.

Banani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rasel Sorowar confirmed the matter on Monday (April 21).

The incident took place on Saturday (April 19) afternoon. 

According to university sources, Parvez, a student of the English department at Primeasia University, had an argument with some fellow students after they laughed over a matter involving two female students from the neighbouring University.

Although the university authorities claimed that the dispute was resolved, a group later attacked Parvez after he left the campus. He was surrounded and stabbed with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.

He was rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
