DHAKA: The government has introduced scholarship for Ebtedayee students for the first time from March of this year.
Around 15,000 Ebtedayee (primary) students will get scholarship in ‘talent pool’ and ‘general grade’ categories from now on.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid came up with the disclosure at Masjid-e-Gausul Azam Complex, Mohakhali in capital on Saturday.
The education minister said the government has brought a revolutionary change in Madrasa education system.
He also highlighted the recent developments in this field such as providing new books at the very beginning of year, salary increment of Madrasa teachers, establishing 1000 new Madrasa buildings and so on.
The minister also said that the students who get ‘talent pool’ and ‘general grade’ scholarship will be provided Tk 200 and Tk 150 per month respectively.
A total of around Tk 3.22 crore has been allocated in this regard, he added.
The Chairman of Madrasa Education Board Professor Abul Kashem Mia along with others was present there.
