DHAKA: A four-day long animation cartoon festival is going to be held with the theme ‘Shishura Sajabei Notun Prithibi (Children will Furnish the New World)’ at the Central Public Library from April 20.

Children Communication Bangladesh (CCB) will organize the festival, the 2nd International Animation Cartoon Festival Bangladesh 2014.

IFAD Multi Products Limited is patronizing the festival.

Executive Director of CCB Saima Akhter made the disclosure at a press conference at the National Press Club on Thursday afternoon.

President of the festival organising committee Sayeed Milky, Managing Director of IFAD Group Jamal Razzak, CCB advisor Ali Imam and cartoonist Ahsan Habib addressed on the occasion.

A total of 100 animations for kids by the artists from 18 countries, including Bangladesh, will be displayed at the festival, which will remain open for children.

Eminent artist Mustafa Manwar will inaugurate the programme at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of the Central Public Library on April 20.

The festival will remain open from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Crests and certificates will be distributed to the cartoonists in the closing ceremony on April 23 at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium.
