DHAKA: Abu Bakar Siddique, husband of Bangladesh Environment Lawyers Association (Bela) Chief Executive Syeda Rizwana Hasan was rescued from capital’s Kalabagan area on Thursday night.               

He is now at Dhanmondi Thana.             

Sources said Siddique was going home by a CNG-run auto rickshaw around 1:45pm. When the CNG reached at Dhanmondi check post petrol police rescued him and sent Dhanmondi Thana.          

AB Siddique said some abductors released him at Mirpur Kazipara at midnight. Then he rents a CNG auto rickshaw to go home and later police rescued him.         

On the other hand, Syeda Rizwana Hasan thanked the law enforcers and newsmen for their contribution to rescue her husband.                                                      

Allude to a group of miscreants abducted Abu Bakar Siddique in front of the Bhuiyan Filling Station in Fatulla area of Narayanganj district on Wednesday.   

Later Rizwana filed a case with Fatulla Model Thana in this connection.
