DHAKA: Services at emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital has come to a halt again on Sunday after the interns locked the unit ticket counter and took position there.

The nuisance brought immense sufferings to the incoming patients.

Hospital outdoor ward master Abdul Gafur told banglanews, “Some 10 to 12 inters locked the door of the counter keeping ticket man Shipon inside at 10:00am.”

“They (interns) took position in front of different rooms at the outdoor to make sure as no patient gets the service,” he added.

At that time, about 200 patients staged demonstration in front of the hospital.

Mainul Islam of Comilla, who came for treatment of his 8-month pageant wife, told banglanews, “We arrived at the hospital at 3:00am on Sunday, did not get any gynecologist till 9:00am.”

“I am taking my wife to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU),” he added.
