The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) announced a two-day mass contact and leaflet distribution programme for Friday (December 29) and Saturday (December 30) as part of their one-point movement.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the new announcement at a virtual press briefing on Thursday (December 28).

The programmes will be held nationwide, he added.

Today was the last day of BNP's three-day mass campaign and leaflet distribution programme but the party extended it which will continue till next Friday and Saturday. 

Earlier on December 24, BNP announced mass contact programmes and distribute leaflets on December 26, 27 and 28 to drum up support in favour of their campaign to boycott the January 7 national election.

BNP, Jamaat and like-minded parties have so far observed blockades in the 12th phase to mount pressure on the Awami League government to quit power and hold the next election under a non-partisan administration.

Apart from BNP, the Jamaat-e-Islami, Ganatantra Mancha, Liberal Democratic Party, Gono Odhikar Parishad, AB Party and other like-minded parties also observed hartal and blockade in several times to mount pressure on the AL government to quit power and hold the next election under a non-partisan administration.
