Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today (May 10) said BNP leaders getting bail, because the judiciary system is independent.

He said this at a joint meeting of the president-general secretaries of Dhaka Metropolitan North-South and Dhaka District Awami League and all affiliated organizations at the Awami League central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital this afternoon.

Quader also Minister of Roads Transport and Bridges said, “BNP leaders released on bail. It is possible because the judiciary system is independent. If BNP creates anarchy again, appropriate answer will be given as we are aware.”

In reply to BNP leader Gayeshwar Chandra Roy’s recent speech, Quader said, “We don't need to please India. We are surviving on our own strength, not at the mercy of India. However, India is our tested friend.”

He further said, the role played by America during the election, India did not say anything, did not play any role. It suits Gayeshwar to belittle his own country like this.
