NARAYANGANJ: At least 10 people, including a child, sustained burn injuries as miscreants set a passenger bus alight in city’s Chashara area on Sunday night.

Six of injured are Dr Saiful Islam, her wife Dr Sharmin Siddique,
their two-and- half-year-old son Shafin, Mizanur Rahman, Iman Ali and Sohag.

However, others identity could not be known immediately.

Bus driver Karimullah said that a gang of miscreants intercepted the bus in front of Somobay New Market at 9:15pm.

When the bus stopped, they got into the bus and started vandalizing window glasses. Some of them set fire to the bus pouring petrol, leaving 10 people badly burnt.

Of them, six were rushed to Naraynaganj 300-bed hospital and later three of them were shifted to Dhaka Medical college and Hospital.  

Narayanganj Sadar Model Thana sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman told banglanews that police detained a man named Azim Gazi from the spot.
