DHAKA: A number of labor organizations including ruling Awami League's labour front Jatiya Sramik League took position surrounding the political office of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in city’s Gulshan area on Monday.

The organizations arranged the sit-in program at noon protesting the prevailing hartal and blockade sponsored by BNP-led 20-party alliance.

However, the protesters managed to cross one of the two police barricades on the way to Khaleda’s office.

But they could not reach the BNP chief’s office due to police barricade.

Staying inside police bars, the protesters chanted slogans against the ongoing hartal and blockade.

They left the spot at around 1:00pm, banglanews correspondent reports.
