Rizvi denied bail in 3 cases

DHAKA:  A Dhaka court on Thursday rejected bail petitions of BNP joint secretary general Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in three violence cases.

Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla of metropolitan session judge court passed the orders after hearing three appeals submitted by his lawyers.

Joynul Abedin Mezbah, one of the counsels of Rizvi, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The three cases were filed with Mohammadpur and Mirpur police stations in city in connection with arson attacks on vehicles, vandalism and cocktail explosions in January.

On January 31, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested him from a house in city’s Baridhara area for his alleged links with violence and sabotages created during ant-government movement.

However, the BNP leader is now in jail.
