DHAKA: BNP on Thursday sought cooperation of the government in ensuring security of its chairperson Khaleda Zia.
BNP international affairs secretary Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon made the urge at the party headquarters in city’s Naya Paltan area on Thursday noon.
He also expressed the party’s concern over the repeated attacks on Khaleda Zia’s motorcade during her city poll campaigns.
‘We are worried over the security of our party chief as her security men were assaulted in brought daylight.’
The government should ensure Khaleda Zia’s security by law enforcers as she was country’s prime minister for three terms, Ripon added.
The BNP leader also blamed the government and the Election Commission (EC) for their strategic position over the army deployment during city polls.
