‘City polls were free, fair and neutral’

DHAKA: Health Minister Mohammed Nasim Saturday claimed that the recently held elections in three city corporations were free, fair and neutral.

He made the remark at a press conference at the political office of ruling Awami League president Sheikh Hasina in capital’s Dhanmondi area at noon.

Refuting the criticism over recently held city corporation polls, the minister claimed except some sporadic incidents, the polls in Dhaka and Chittagong city corporations were free, fair and neutral.

There was no major incident during the polls, he added.

Pointing to the critics, the minister further said that how BNP got significant number of votes if there was any rigging.
