DHAKA: Dr Kamal Hossain, Gano Forum president and chief architect of Bangladesh’s constitution, Tuesday defined that not only terrorism-and corruption-free but also politicization-free politics is considered fair politics.

“All of our achievements like the 1952 Language Movement, the War of Liberation in 1971 and the 1972 constitution were the results of fair politics,” he said.

“The victory we attained on December 16, 1971 with the solid national unity was an outcome of correct politics. And that politics was not only free from terrorism and corruption but also from politicization,” he went on, taking a trip down the memory lane to rue the present state of affairs in the political arena.      

Dr Kamal Hossain made the observations at an iftar mahfil and discussion at the party’s central office in Arambagh marking the party’s 17th founding anniversary.

The constitutional expert said that every citizen should have to be made aware of the state’s pledge on fulfilling the basic rights inscribed on the constitution.

Chaired by Dhaka City Gano Forum president Mostafa Mohsin Montu, party’s acting general secretary advocate Subrata Chowdhury, training affairs secretary advocate Shafiullah and law affairs Secretary Jaglul Haider Afridi also spoke at the programme.
