PABNA: Convener of Santhia Upazila unit Chhatra League, front organization of ruling Awami League, was expelled from the party on allegation of breaching party discipline.

He was identified as Ashrafuzzaman Sumon, 28.

Regarding the expulsion, a news release, singed by district unit Chhatra League president Ruhul Amin and general secretary Shibli Sadiq, was issued on Wednesday night.

Two factions of local Chhatra League locked into chase-counter chase over the formation of Kashinathpur union Chhatra League committee on Wednesday noon.

At a stage, police detained Sumon as he showed a firearm that was in his possession.

Local AL and Chhatra League leaders and activists, later, decided to expel Sumon on charge of breaking the party code of conduct.
