DHAKA: A defamation case has been filed against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and its standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy for their controversial remarks about the role of Bangabandhu and the number of martyr’s in the Liberation War in 1971.

Jananetri Parishad, a front organization of ruling Awami League, president AB Siddique filed the case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Tuesday.

The hearing of the case is likely to be held at the court of metropolitan magistrate Aminul Haque in the afternoon.
