BRAHMANBARIA: Ten people were injured in a clash between two rival groups of BNP over exchange of Eid greetings at Bikal bazaar in Sorail upazila on Sunday morning.

Police and witnesses said the supporters of upazila BNP joint conveners Advocate Abdur Rahman and Anwar Master had an altercation in the morning when Abdur Rahman came to exchange pleasantries with party leaders and activists.

At one stage of altercation, both groups locked into a clash, leaving 10 injured.

Sorail thana OC Subhash Chandra Saha said, "Additional police have been deployed in Bikal bazaar area to fend off further trouble."
