DHAKA: Law enforcers have detained as many as 37 members of banned extremist outfits in the countrywide crackdown till now.

Police headquarters public relations officer AKM Qamrul Ahsan confirmed the matter to banglanews on Saturday noon (June 11).

Of the detainees, 27 are members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), seven are from Jagrata Muslim Janata, and three from other outfits, he added.

He further said that police seized a pistol, 15 cocktails and 500 grams of gunpowder from their possession.
