RANGPUR: Police in overnight drives have arrested a Jamaat-e-Islami activist among 57 accused in several cases from different upazilas of the district from Tuesday (December 6) to Wednesday (December 7).

Police arrested the Jamaat man from Mithapur upazila in connection with a sabotage case.

District police control room confirmed the matter to Banglanews at 8:00am Wednesday (December 7).

District police superintendent (SP) Mizanur Rahman told Banglanews that the arrestees were accused in several cases including sabotage, theft, robbery and terrorist activities.

They were sent to prison after facing court in the morning, he added.
