TANGAIL: District unit of ruling Awami League (AL) on Monday (January 16) sent a letter to central committee proposing expulsion of Tangail-3 (Ghatail) constituency lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana along with three of his brothers from the party.

District AL took the decision after holding an emergency meeting at district council auditorium in the morning for the four brothers’ alleged involvement in the murder of freedom fighter and another AL leader Faruq.

Three brothers of the lawmaker Rana are: former municipal mayor Sahidur Rahman Khan Mukti, Zahidur Rahman Khan Kakon and central Chhatra League member Saniat Khan Bappa.

District unit AL general secretary Advocate Zohayerul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Tangail district AL president and district council chairman Fazlur Rahman Khan Faruq was also present in the meeting.
