MADARIPUR: A local leader of Bangladesh National Party (BNP) was killed in a road accident in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur Wednesday morning (January 18).

The deceased was identified as Abdus Samad Molla, hailed from Madborerchar in the upazila.

Shibchar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Zakir Hossain told Banglanews that a bus hit a van that Abdus Samad was riding around 11:00 pm on Tuesday, leaving him critically injured.

Locals rushed him to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex where on-duty physician declared him dead around 6:00 am on Wednesday.
