DHAKA: BNP vice-chairman Abdullah Al Noman has called for a fair and helpful government that is supportive for a free and neutral election.
He made the demand at a discussion titled “Ways to bring back fair trend in politics” organized by Bangladesh New Generation Party (BNGP) in the Sagor-Runi auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Friday (January 20).
Noman said a free and fair election can not be expected under this government. A supportive subsidiary government is a must to conduct the polls.
“The incumbent government came to power by a farcical election and they are planning another autocratic election to stay in power that eventually people will never accept.”
BNP executive committee member Rafique Shikdar, Nilufar Chowdhury Moni and NDP presidium member Manzur Hossain Isha also spoke at the meeting chaired by BNGP chairman Zahid Iqbal.
