DHAKA: Considering the suffering of people, ruling Awami League (AL) said it will not organize rallies and processions in Dhaka to observe historic March 7, 17 and 26.
AL general secretary and also road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader came up with the disclosure at a library inauguration program in the city’s Kakrail area Friday (February 10).
“Instead, the party will organize informal meetings and discussion programs in enclosed places on those three days,” he added.
Books published on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the political philosophy of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from Jubo Jagaran, the publicity and publication wing of Jubo League will be available at the library, also named as Jubo Jagaran.
Awami Jubo League, Dhaka (South) organized the program here.
Quader further said AL will organize programs in the future in such a way so that people do not suffer from it.
Jubo League chairman Mohammad Omar Faroque Chowdhury presided over the program where its general secretary Harunur Rashid and Dhaka Jubo League (south) president Ismail Chowdhury Samrat attended.
