DHAKA: Police arrested Union Parishad (UP) chairman of Gouripur upazila, Mymensingh on Wednesday (February 15) morning.

The arrestee, Taibur Rahman Hiron, is also a Joint convener of BNP.

Delwar Ahmed, Gouripur police station officer in charge (OC) confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Hiron was an accused in several Sabotage cases. 

He will later be taken to the court, the OC added.
