GAIBANDHA: Police early Thursday (February 23) detained another person from Dhaka for his alleged involvement with the murder of Gaibandha-1 (Sundarganj) lawmaker Manjurul Islam Liton.

The detainee was identified as Aminur Islam Rana.

Gaibandha police super (SP) Ashraful Islam was addressing a press conference at his office in the afternoon.

He further said former lawmaker from Jatiya Party (JP, Ershad) Abdul Qader planned about murdering Liton while Abdul Hannan, Mehedi Hasan, Shaheen and Rana implemented it.

Police detained Rana as per confessions of the three perpetrators of the crime, he added.
