DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that the ongoing transport strike is being backed by a minister and a state minister of the government.
He, however, did not mention the names of the ministers while making the allegation in a discussion on Wednesday noon (March 1).
The program was organized at the National Press Club in memory of martyred army officers in BDR mutiny in 2009.
Mentioning that the country is being destroyed by serving party and individual interests, Fakhrul said countrymen are now victims of the system.
BNP standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy also spoke at the meeting.
Goyeshwar categorically blamed shipping minister Shahjahan Khan for creating the public sufferings due to the ongoing transport strike.
