DHAKA: Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has said that people of the country has the right to know about the international treaties related to national security interest.
Chairperson of the TIB’s trusty board Advocate Sultana Kamal commented that hiding the deals is unconstitutional.
She said this at a press conference of the TIB held at its office in MIDAS Centre of Dhanmondi in the capital city on Sunday morning (April 09).
The TIB arranged the press conference to reveal a new study on Parliament.
Sultana Kamal said, “As per the constitution, people are the owner of everything. Therefore, the elected representative will take opinion from the people when they take any decision. Many things are being hiding”, she said.
TIB’s executive director Dr Iftekharuzzman said that rights of the Parliament is being violated by not disclosing the international deals to the people.
