DHAKA: Criticizing PM Sheikh Hasina’s recent India tour, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the government failed to strike a fruitful deal with India this time.
He made the remark at a protest rally marking the fourth anniversary of closing down the daily newspaper ‘Amar Desh’ at the Engineering Institute in city on Tuesday noon (April 11).
Fakhrul said, “The premier herself admitted that they got electricity, not water. That means our expectation has not been met. So we have nothing to say more in this regard.”
Fakhrul also said the ruling Awami League is only focusing their relationship with India, but what will happen to our millions of farmers who are not getting the minimum share of water for agriculture.
