AL activist’s slit-throat body recovered in Noakhali

NOAKHALI: Police on Sunday (April 16) recovered the slit-throat body of an Awami League activist who went into missing following infighting between two groups of the ruling party in Hatia upazila of the district on April 13.

The deceased was identified as Bahar Sarder, 50, son of Ali Ahmed of Dakshin Shullakia village under Charking union of Hatia upazila. 

The body was recovered from Tamruddi Ghat of Meghna River in the upazila around 10:30 am.

Bahar was known as a supporter of former MP of the constituency Mohammad Ali. 

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatia police station Abdul Majid told Banglanews that the body was floating on the river in morning. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the Noakhali General Hospital for autopsy.
