36 female Jamaat activists held, sent to jail in Narail

NARAIL: Thirty-six female activists of Jamaat-e-islami including district female ameer Hosneara Banu, arrested from Vowakhali area of the town in Narail yesterday, were sent to jail on Monday noon (May 1).

Narail Police Super (SP) Sardar Rakibul Islam told Banglanews that, acting on tip-off, police conducted a drive in district Jamaat ameer Ashek Elahi’s residence while the activists were planning for sabotage through a secret meeting. Some Jihadi books and extortion money receipts were also seized from the spot.

Additional Police Super (ASP) Mehedi Hasan said sabotage cases were filed against 36 arrestees under 1974 special power act 25 (d). They were produced before court on Monday morning.
