CHITTAGONG: A pre-scheduled rally of the Chittagong north district unit of BNP has been foiled because of infighting between two groups of the party.  

The incident took place at about 3:00 pm on Tuesday (May 02) at the BNP’s city unit office at Nasimon Bhaban in Chittagong.

BNP’s standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain was scheduled to attend the activists’ rally of the north district BNP as the chief guest.

Sources said that the followers of BNP vice-chairman Gias Uddin Quader chowdhury and Chittagong north district unit president Aslam Chowdhury locked into clash centering slogans.

The BNP men hurled chairs at each others. Some BNP men were injured in the clash.
