RAJSHAHI: The BNP men locked into factional clash during their party meting at the same venue in Rajshahi on Tuesday (May 16), a day after another clash of two rival groups of the party.
The incident happened at about 11:30 am at Uttara Community Centre in Rajshahi city in the presence of the party’s standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy and other senior leaders.
The BNP mnen engaged in the factional clash during the party’s district unit conference. The clash took place between the supports of Rajshahi district BNP president Tofazzal Hossain and former president Advocate Nadim Mostafa.
Earlier on Monday (May 15), a clash took place between the supporters of BNP chairperson’s adviser Mizanur Rahman Minu and Rajshai city BNP president and the RCC mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul at the same venue during Rajshahi city unit activists’ conference.
Goyeshwar Chandra Roy also witnessed the Monday’s factional clash.
During Tuesday’s clash, the BNP men vandalized chair, tables and stage. Later, the meeting began again.
On information, police rushed to the spot and took the situation under control. The senior leaders of the party also intervened to take the situation under control.
