DHAKA: A Dhaka court sent BNP joint secretary general Barkatullah Bulu to jail after he surrendered before the court on Thursday (May 18).

The BNP leader surrendered before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court in the morning, seeking bail in several cases filed against him for sabotage acts.

Bulu’s lawyer Joynal Abedin Mejbah said that his client filed bail prayers in 31 sabotage cases. The court rejected his bail plea.

The cases were with different police stations in Dhaka, for carrying out sabotage activities during the countrywide hartal and blockade staged by the BNP-led alliance.
