DHAKA: A team of Gulshan thana police carried out a search at BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office on early Saturday (May 20).

They, however, found no evidence to charge with sedition after searching the office for almost two hours from 7:30 am.

Gulshan police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abu Bakar Siddique told Banglanews that following a search-warrant issued by the court, police conducted the search to investigate if there was any evidence or documents of treachery.

After the search, the OC told reporters that no evidence in this regard was found from the office.

However, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the police search was conducted with an evil motive to harass the BNP chairperson and upset her mentally.

Rizvi expressed the immediate reaction while talking to reporters before the Gulshan office during the search.
