DHAKA: Police have arrested some 25 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami while they were holding a secret meeting at Huq Chamber building in city’s Panthapath area on Friday afternoon (May 26).

Acting on tip-off, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police conducted the drive at the building around 4:00pm and detain them. Police also seized 16 computers from their possession.

However, the identities of the detainees couldn’t be known immediately.

DMP Tejgaon division deputy commissioner (DC) Biplab Kumar Sarkar said the arrested Jamaat men were involved in creating websites and posting seditious contents online.
