DHAKA: Jatiya Party’s presidium member and MP Kazi Firoz Rashid has once again expressed annoyance over the role of his party in the Parliament.
He told the Parliament on Tuesday (May 30) that the people don’t consider the Jatiya Party as an opposition in the Parliament.
“Why people will consider us as opposition party? We can’t speak in the Parliament. We can’t vote against party’s decision due to Article 17,” he said.
The Jatiya Party’s senior leader took part in the discussion in the beginning day of budget session of the Parliament.
The budget session for this year, which is also the 16th session of the 10th Parliament, began on Tuesday morning with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Kazi Firoz Rashid criticized the government for not finding out the theft money of Bangladesh Bank and other banks. He said that a vested quarter looted the money of the people.
He also talked about crisis in different banks in the country, including Basic Bank, Sonali Bank, Agrani Bank, Rupali Bank and Islami Bank.
