NARAYANGANJ: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said there is no scope for politics centering excise duty proposed in the budget for FY 2017-18 as it will be revised in the final budget.
He made the remarks to reporters while visiting an under construction flyover in Bhulta and Golakandail areas of Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj on Monday afternoon (June 5).
In response to a query, Quader said the overall economy of the country has strengthened than before. The government won’t prepare a budget that is harmful for people.
Also about BNP’s participation in the next election, he said BNP is floating the idea of “supportive government” as an excuse to boycott the next election.
Kachpur highway thana officer-in-charge (OC) Shariful Islam, Rupganj upazila Jubo League president Kamrul Hasan and higher officials of the flyover construction project were present at the time.
