DHAKA: Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) evicted BNP standing committee member also former vice-president Barrister Moudud Ahmed from his illegally occupied home holding no.159 in the capital’s Gulshan 2 on early Thursday (June 8).
The 14-hour long eviction drive led by Rajuk executive magistrate Waliur Rahman started on Wednesday noon (June 7) and came to an end at around 02:28am Thursday.
After sealing-off, magistrate Waliur Rahman handed over the home to Gulshan police station officer-in-charge Abu Bakar Siddique.
Some officials of Rajuk including its director (land section-1) Anisur Rahman, Adil-Uz-zaman and the police officials were present there.
Magistrate Waliur Rahman told Banglanews “Following the court order, we have evicted the house and handed over it to the OC of Gulshan thana. Now they will look after the house.”
“The house has been sealed-off after taking out all the belongings. Now, there’s nothing inside belongs to Moudud Ahmed”, said OC Abu Bakar Siddique.
Earlier on June 4, the Supreme Court rejected the review petition against earlier verdict asking Moudud Ahmed and his brother to leave their home holding plot no.159 in Gulshan-2.
Besides, on December 17, 2013, Deputy Director of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Harun-or-Rashid filed a case with Gulshan Police Station against Moudud and his brother Manjur on charge of grabbing the house.
